well this sucks/makes me feel like an asshole
i just told paula i can't come to chicago june 19th - 23rd.
and i just got an email from a university about funding my research for my thesis concerning disabled sports culture. this makes the story funny here - i cancelled my trip to birmingham alabama for an international quad rugby tournament because i couldn't afford it to instead go to chicago because i could afford it. some messy shit with the family and finances came up and i can no longer go to chicago during the same time period. AND NOW i'm being offered a couple thousand dollars to continue my research on quad rugby and disabled culture so now after i cancelled my trip and my hotel reservations i'm being handed money to do what i was originally going to do between the days of june 19th and the 23rd.

mother fucker.

i have to contact the hotel and lakeshore foundation and tell them i'm coming (again). i don't want to jerk lakeshore around on this because i've been working with them on this study since fall of 2006. i don't want to let down them, my university, the uni that's funding me, and myself. this is huge for me. i've always wanted to produce something that could change misconceptions about disabilities and here it is being handed to me on a silver platter. i won't let them down.

and from what i gather from this proposal... if all goes well down in 'bama.... i'm being sent to beijing china to cover the paralympics for my thesis
